War Memorial St. Nicholas Church

This memorial inside the St. Nicholas Church commemorates the residents of Brockenhurst who were killed or missing in the First World War (52 names) and the Second World War (32 names).

Also within the church are several memorials to New Zealand servicemen. Brockenhurst became the home to No 1 New Zealand General Hospital in 1916 when it moved from Egypt. Between 1916 and it's closure in 1919, some 20,000 casualties were treated in its facilities, including two local hotels. There are 93 New Zealand graves in the churchyard.
