Suryadarma Air Force Base

On 2 March 1942, the colonial Dutch troops based their campaign against the Japanese at this airfield. Seven days later, Dutch general Hein ter Poorten surrendered here to the Japanese.

During the Japanese occupation, the 7th Sentai was stationed at the airfield.

It also saw action during the Indonesian Independence War, when it was temporarily captured by Indonesian rebels.
