Memorial Train Station Ghetto Theresienstadt

This memorial is standing on the site of the former train station of the Ghetto of Theresienstadt. The station was built during the Second World to handle the enormous influx of victims.

The railroad junction of 2.5 km towards the ghetto was built by prisoners from August 1942. From June 1, 1943, trains arrived here directly. From here, more than 36,000 prisoners and 1,200 children were transported from Białystok to Auschwitz-Birkenau extermination camp.
