This chapel was built by former Ukrainian Prisoners of War who could not return home. Before thay, it was used as a place of worship by Italian prisoners during their stay at Hallmuir Prisoner of War Camp. By 1947 the camp stood empty following the repatriation of the Italians. Because the Ukrainians had fought for the Germans, they would be shot when they came home. At the end, the Ukrainians stayed in Great Britain.
