This war cemetery on Ocracoke Island contains the graves of four Commonwealth sailors who died when the armed trawler H.M. Trawler Bedfordshire was torpedoed in May 1942. Two of the sailors were unidentified.
The cemetery was granted to the Commission by the North Carolina State Property Office in 1976, making it probably the smallest Commission cemetery in the world. The cemetery is maintained by the US Coastguard.
