Former U.S. Navy Base Johnston Atoll
This former military base served under the U.S. Navy from 1934 to 2004. After WW2, the base was expanded with artificial islands and used for nuclear/biological warfare experiments. One of the last purposes of Johnston was as storage site for chemical components.
