War Memorial Hall Llansanffraid Glan Conwy

This memorial hall commemorates the residents of Llansanffraid Glan Conwy who were killed or missing in the First World War.

Sadly the Memorial Hall has fallen into disuse and disrepair due to lack of funds but in the past hosted amongst many things including a concert at Christmas for the local children (and parents) to participate in as inside there was a mini theatre.

Opened in 1932 it contained at one time, three plaques listing those of the village who fell in the Great War, World War II and the Korean War. These have now been removed and are in Church House. Various plans have existed over the years to convert into flats, all of which have failed to materialise. Ownership currently lies with Conwy County Council who have indicated that once a sale has been achieved the proceeds will be used for the benefit of the village. The Cross Keys was one of only two pubs left in the village, the other being Yr Aber - The Estuary (formerly known as the Conwy Vale which has now been demolished. Locals will tell you of just how many hostelries actually existed in bygone days. It was considerably more than two!
