United Nations Memorial Cemetery

This war cemetery (Tanggok Cemetery) contains the graves of 2,289 servicemen and 11 civilians of the United Nations, who died in the Korean War (1950-1953).

South Africa (2 Squadron SAAF): 11
Turkey (Turkish Brigade): 462
Dutch (the "Netherlands Battalion"): 117
France (French Battalion): 44
South Korean: 36 – ROK Army soldiers serving in UNC units
American: 36
Norway: 1
Non-combatants: 11
Unknown: 4

The cemetery contains also 29 memorials of the countries which were involved. Among the casualties are WW2 veterans such as Major Charles Blake (KW, DFC, CVK)
