Arlington House - The Robert E. Lee Memorial

General Robert Edward Lee was an American commander of the Confederate Army of Northern Virginia in the American Civil War from 1862 until his resignation in 1865.

Arlington House, The Robert E. Lee Memorial, also known as the Custis-Lee Mansion is a mansion built in Greek style in Arlington.
Robert Edward Lee once lived in this house overlooking the Potomac River and the National Mall in Washington DC.
During the American Civil War, the grounds of the mansion was chosen as the location for Arlington National Cemetery.
The United States created this house into a National Memorial for Robert E. Lee in 1955, out of respect for him both in the North and South of America.

At The garden before Arlington House is a memorial for General Robert Edward Lee. Generaal Robert Edward Lee was an American commander of the Confederate Army of Northern Virginia in the American Civil War from 1862 until his resignation in 1865.
