On this location was, from 27 November 1950 to the armistice on 27 July 1953, a prisoner-of-war camp for about 150,000 North-Korean, 20.000 Chinese soldiers and 3,000 women soldiers and militias. The camp is partly reconstructed and the area has become a historic park.
