In the garden of the St. Peter & Paul Church is a memorial stone for father Gregor (Ludwig) Giegerich who was killed in the Korean War.
From 1939 on, he was a member of the Towon Monastery in North Korea. On 11 May 1949, all fathers of the monastery were imprisoned. On 4 October 1950, all 4500 inmates in Pyongyang were killed because of the American advance. One of them was Gregor Giegeric.
Of the Towon Monastery, between 1945 and 1952, 7 Korean and 26 European members were killed.
