The labour camp Karlshagen 1 was part of the residential camp complex East. The separate labour camp consisted of five prison barracks that were surrounded by a barbed wire fence. Several smaller bunkers for the guards and watchtowers were used to secure the area. A washhouse and kitchen were also part of the camp. A small storage building a little further away was used to store potatoes, cabbage etc. The barracks were built on wooden piles. The remaining beams can still be seen today in the pit.
