Victoria Peak

Victoria Peak was a British bastion during the Battle of Hong Kong (8-25 December 1941).

The main focus of the photograph is Japanese gunners of the 10th Independent Mountain Gun Regiment using a Type 41 75mm mountain gun to shell Victoria City. The gun position is on Braemar Hill overlooking Causeway Bay in the mid-ground, with the Asiatic Petroleum Company pier on the right. The high point at the top of the photo is Victoria Peak.
