Naval Memorial Kingston

The memorial sits at the foot of the Historic Kingston Dry Dock where ships were built for the Royal Canadian Navy during WWI and WW2. The monument bears two plaques. The upper reads:

In Memory of the Men and Women
of the
Royal Canadian Navy
and the
Merchant Navy
who served their country
in war and peace.
We will remember them.



The lower plaque lists:

1939 Battle of the Atlantic 1945
Royal Canadian Navy Losses
His Majesty's Canadian Ships(23 named)
His Majesty's Canadian Motor Torpedo Boats (7 listed)
Canadian Merchant Navy Losses 67 Merchant Ships
Royal Canadian Air Force Costal Command losses 151 Aircraft


In the path approaching the monument are stones with the names of the RCN ships built in the Kingston Dry Dock during WWII
