In Memoriam Grave Lombok Expedition Roman Catholic Cemetery Dokkum

The Roman Catholic Cemetery in Dokkum contains a Memoriam grave of Father Gerardus Franciscus Smit (born 13-9-1856). He was an apostolic missionary chaplain at the East Indian army (Dutch Army in the East) during the Lombok-Expedition. During his service he got ill and died. He died in Semarang on 23-2-1895.
