Memorial HMAS Adelaide

The HMAS Adelaide was a light cruiser of the Town class.

In 1922 she was commissioned by the Royal Australian Navy. In 1928 she was mothballed into reserve but she became operational again at the start of the Second World War.

On 28 November 1942 she sank the German ship Ramses and in 1944 she provided gunfire to landings on Ambon.

In 1950 she was broken up although her mast was kept as a memory.
