Memorial Janesville 99

This memorial commemorates the Janesville 99. These were 99 National Guard soldiers from Rock County who defended the Philippines against the Japanese early in World War II.

After the surrender, they were forced to the Bataan Death March and years of hardship in Japanese POW camps.

Only 35 of them survived World War II.
