Memorial Executions 28-11-1944 Boezemlaan

On this location, five civilians were shot by the Germans on 28 November 1944 as reprisal measurement for a bomb-attack on the railway.

The cross bears the text:
FOR THOSE WHO FELL

In reprisal for this bomb attack by the resistance on a train in North Rotterdam, 10 men were executed by the Germans in two places in Rotterdam. This happened on November 28, 1944 on s'Gravenweg and on Nieuwe Terbregscheweg.
In memory of these men there are now resistance crosses on the Jan Vermeersingel and the Boezembocht and there is a memorial stone with the names of the executed.
