Cemetery of the Defenders of Lwow

This cemetery contains the graves of about 3000 Polish soldiers, 3 American pilots and one French soldier who fell in the battles for Lwow (now Lviv) in the period 1918-1920. The cemetery was completely destroyed by the communist authorities in the 70's and after years of neglect, the war cemetery was fully restored and reopened in 2005. The reconstruction and official opening represents a major improvement in Polish-Ukrainian relations.

Polish Victory Memorial Lviv
This memorial is in memory of the Polish victory in the Battle of Lwow (now: Lviv). The city was awarded with the Virtuti Militari on 11 November 1920.

Chapel of the Defenders of Lwow
This chapel was designed by Rudolf Indruch and built in 1922-1924. It replaced a wooden chapel which was built during the war. In 2010, it was decorated with two stained-glass windows donated by PHPU director Allmed Biedron.

Grave memorial French war volunteers
This memorial commemorates the 17 French war volunteers (9 officers, two corporals, six privates) who fell in the Polish-Soviet War (1919-1920). Over the course of time, their bodies - at the request of families - were transported back to France, leaving the private Jean Larouet the only Frenchman buried on this cemetery. His grave is underneath the memorial. There is also 'holy earth' from the following First World War battlefields buried here:

- Polish war cemetery Bois de Puits.
- Highest point of the battlefield of Notre Dame de Lorete.
- Memorial "Bajonczykow" at La Targette.
- The battlefields of Verdun, Arras and St. Holaire.
