This memorial commemorates the residents of Radcliffe who were killed or missing in the First World War (29 names) and the Second World War (10 names).
The memorial was originally located in Radcliffe but in the early 1970s the former mining town was demolished to make way for an open-cast coal mine, and the memorial, along with the residents, were relocated to Amble.
