Commonwealth War Graves Mont Carmel Roman Catholic Cemetery

Mont Carmel Roman Catholic Cemetery in Sint John's contains 32 Commonwealth war graves from the Second and 11 from the First World War. There is also a Dutch war grave from the Second World War.

Most of the Second World War graves are of victims of a fire which broke out in the Knights of Columbus Hostel in St. John's on 12 December 1942.

Canadian cemeteries contains often also graves of war veterans. These graves have the same headstones as the war graves, but then only with a cross and not with a symbol of an army-unit.
