This monument is dedicated to the memory of the
Canadian soldiers of the Royal Winnipeg Rifles and
to all other Canadian combatants who played a part
in the liberation of Putot en Bessin
on 7th June 1944.

This monument is dedicated to the soldiers of the 1st Battalion the Canadian Scottish Regiment who fought the battle of Putot-en-Bessin 8 and 9 June 1944 and to all members of the regiment who served the cause of freedom for the liberation of Normandy
