Memorial for Peacekeeping Operations

This monument, in the National Remembrance Park Roermond, is erected in memory of the Dutch soldiers who have died since the beginning of the Korean War in the service of the Kingdom of the Netherlands as a result of peacekeeping operations.

New names are being added to the memorial. At this time, the conflicts were in:
Korea (1951-1954)
Congo (1961)
Lebanon (1979-1983)
Russia (1992)
Former Yugoslavia (1993-2002)
Cambodia (1993)
Sinai (1994)
Angola (1997)
Eritrea (2001)
Iraq (2004)
Djibouti (2006)
Afghanistan (2006-2010)
Mali (2015)


In this text are mentioned the names of the victims who fought for the Netherlands and who gave their lives in the War in Afghanistan and/or Operation Enduring Freedom and who have no grave because they were cremated:

06 April 2007 , Sergeant 1st Class Robert Donkers, aged 33
18 June 2007 , Sergeant Major Jos Leunissen, aged 44
26 August 2007 , 1st Sergeant Martijn Rendert Rosier, aged 30
18 April 2008 , Private 1st Class Mark Schouwink, aged 22
06 September 2009 , Corporal Kevin van der Rijdt, aged 26
