Commonwealth War Graves Camp Hill Cemetery

Camp Hill Cemetery in Halifax contains 84 Commonwealth war graves from the Second and 10 from the First World War, scattered throughout the cemetery

Halifax was the headquarters of Atlantic Command during the Second World War. Its extensive harbour, which was heavily defended, was the main port of embarkation for Canadian troops serving abroad.

Canadian cemeteries contains often also graves of war veterans. These graves have the same headstones as the war graves, but then only with a cross and not with a symbol of an army-unit.
