Memorial Abane Ramdane

This memorial commemorates Abane Ramdane who was born in Larbaâ n Ath Irathen on 10 June 1920. He was a policical activist who was known as "the architect of the revolution". He also played an important role in the organization of the independence struggle during the Algerian war.

On 27 December 1957, he was murdered by the National Liberation Front (FLN) because he was supposedly creating a cult of the individual rather than the collective leadership.
