Labuan is a small island off the coast of Borneo. Labuan War Cemetery contains the Labuan Memorial of the Missing. It commemorates 2294 soldiers who were killed during the Second World War and have no known grave.
Most names on the memorial are of soldiers of the Australian Army and airmen of the Australian Air Force who died in POW-camps or in the fights in 1945. Soldiers from North Borneo, Sarawak and Brunei are also commemorated.
