Coast Guard Memorial

This memorial was erected in 1982 and is designed by Oscar Andrés Mirwald. It commemorates the members of the Prefectura Naval Argentina (PNA) (Argentine Naval Prefecture, this the same task as other countries’ Coast Guard) who had fallen in the line of duty.
The memorial depicts the bow of the GC-83 "Río Iguazú", which performed heroically in la Guerra de Malvinas (The Falklands War). There is also a map of the Argentine national territory, which also includes the Falkland Islands.
