Stumbling Stones Dorstener Straße 12

These memorial stones (so called Stolpersteine of stumbling blocks) commemorate:
* Levi Schwartz. Born 1859. Deported 1943. Sobibor. Murdered 28 May 1943.

Levi was the father of Henny Löwenherz, née Schwartz and Hedwig Eckstein, née Schwartz.

* Richard Löwenherz. Born 1896. Deported 1942. Theresienstadt. Murdered 31 December 1943.
* Helga Löwenherz. Born 1928. Deported 1942. Murdered in Auschwitz.
* Henny Löwenherz, née Schwartz. Born 1898. Deported 1942. Theresienstadt. Murdered 10 September 1942.

Richard and Henny Löwenherz were husband and wife and Helga was their daughter.

* Otto Eckstein. Born 1904. Deported 1942. Auschwitz. Murdered 25 August 1942.
* Juliana Eckstein. Born 1937. Deported 1942. Murdered in Auschwitz.
* Hedwig Eckstein, née Schwartz. Born 1900. Deported 1942. Auschwitz. Murdered 12 August 1942.

Otto and Hedwig were husband and wife; Juliana was their daughter.

The small brass plaques, in the pavement in front of houses of which the (mostly Jewish) residents were murdered by the Nazis, mention the name, date of birth and place (mostly a concentration camp) and date of death.

In many other German cities the memorials also can be found. There are already many thousands of these plaques and their number is still counting. Almost all Stolpersteine are laid by the German artist himself, Gunter Demnig.
