Memorial Bomb Attack Nasiriyah

Italy took part in the Iraq War from 15 July 2003 until 1 December 2006. On 12 November 2003, a suicide attack took place on the Italian barracks in Nasiriyah. In the attack, 19 Italians (13 Carabinieri (policemen), 2 soldiers and 2 civilians) and 9 Iraqi civilians were killed. More than 100 people were injured, including 19 Italian soldiers.

This memorial in park Parco della Montagnola commemorates the victims.
