This is the grave of the French general Alphonse-Sylvestre Van Hecke 1890- 1981. The grave of Brigade General Van Hecke is situated at the cemetery in Edegem.
Every first Sunday after the 1e of oktober the Anciens of the French Foreign Legion Belgium Branch hold a ceremony to commemorate the General.
