This memorial commemorates the the crew of a Wellington bomber who died when the plane crashed on the moor on 12 November 1943.
The crew were:
Flt. Sgt. J.B. Timperon and Sgts. E.R. Barnes, J.B. Hayton, R.S. Jackson, G.E.Murray and M. Mouncey.
