In front of the Catholic church in Raesfeld, a memorial stele remembers the former Jewish community of the village. The names of the 36 Jewish villagers who died in ghettos and concentration camps between 1941 and 1945 are carved in stone. On one side, the following inscription was engraved:
In memory of our Jewish fellow citizens, who have lived with us for over 250 years.
In the years of National Socialism they were persecuted, their synagogue (1863-1938)
destroyed and their families moved into concentration camps.
