War Memorial Newton Aycliffe

This raw slate memorial of remembrance and peace commemorates the victims of wars in general, but also contains a call for peace and the effort to end wars.

The text on the three stones reads:

"Pax
Craving peace not as a refuge for pleasure or pain but for it's absolute self

It is in the mind of heart that wars begin, so it is in the mind of hearts that wars must end

At the going down of the sun and in the morning we will remember them"
