John Rabe, saviour of hundred of thousands Chinese people during the Japanese massacres in Nanking (Nanjing) in 1937, lived in this house from 1932 to 1938. He accomodated 600 Chinese in this house.
Now the house is a museum.
In 2009, a movie about John Rabe was released.
