Memorial Armenian Genocide

This memorial commemorates the victims of the genocide on the Armenian people in 1915.

The monument was erected at the request of the Mechelen Armenian community.
The stone symbolizes the presence of the Armenians in Mechelen, the largest community in the city after the Flemish and Moroccans, and in memory of the Armenian genocide by the Ottoman Empire a hundred years ago.
