Memorial German Pilot Friederich Windemuth

During the Spanish Civil War, there was a republican airfield on this location. On 6 February 1939, it was attacked by the German air forse and only 4 of the 30 aircraft were able to take off. One of them, Josep Falcó, shot down the Messerschmitt Bf 109 of Friederich Windemuth.
Years later, he raised this headstone for his killed opponent. Text on the memorial:
Here fell on 06-02-1939, in the struggle for nationalist Spain, Friederich Windemuth, born 05-27-1915 in Leipzig.
