Memorial Lillian Buckoke

Tekst on the plaque, on St. Paul's Primary School:
Lillian Buckoke (neé Urmston)
(1914-1990)
Born in Stalybridge an attended St Paul's School. She qualified as a nurse in Ashton-under-Lyne and in 1937 bravely volunteered medical assistance to injuired Government troops and civilians during the Spanish Civil War.
She is remembered for her heroic work.
