Grave Rudolf Perešin

This grave on Mirogoj Cemetery is of Rudolf Perešin. He was the first pilot to desert from the Yugoslav Air Force. In October 1991 he flew his MiG-21 fighter jet from Željava Air Base to Klagenfurt, Austria.
After that, he flew missions for the Croatian Air Force during the Croatian Homeland War (or Croatian War of Independence). He was shot down in May 1995 by the Serbs.
