Stanley Military Cemetery in Hong Kong contains a large plot with 598 Commonwealth war graves from the Second World War. Of these, 175 are unidentified. The graves are of soldiers who died in prisoner-of-war camps. Some graves still have the original headstone, made of granite by fellow POWs.
The cemetery also contains 96 graves of civilians who died in the Japanese internment camps.
