Triumphal Arch for the Victory

This 49-meter-high monument (Arco de la Victoria) in the Moncloa district commemorates the victory of Franco's troops in the Battle of the Ciudad Universitaria in 1936, which was part of the Spanish Civil War.

Due to the political division in Spain over how to deal with Civil War monuments, the monument is in poor condition and is currently (11-2023) surrounded by a fence.
