Remains Ponte Grande

This bridge was captured by British forces on 10 July 1943. The skirmished led to the death of two Italian soldiers.

A plaque commemorates the two Italian soldiers (Nunzio Formisano and Calisto Calcagno) who died defending this bridge against British forces on 10 July 1943.
