Memorial Rudolf Breitscheid

This plaque commemorates Rudolf Breitscheid, who lived here until 1932. He was a well-known politician of the socialist SPD.

In 1940, he was extradited by the Vichy-government in France to the Gestapo. He died in a bombardment on Buchenwald concentration camp, where he was imprisoned.
