This plaque commemorates Erich Klausener, who lived here. He was a polical opponent of Hitler and National-Socialism. On 30 June 1934, he was shot dead in his office by the SS, by order of Reinhard Heydrich.
The other plaque commemorates Alexander Schwab, who lived and worked here. He was a communist politician and publisher. In 1936 he was arrested. On 12 November 1943, after years of being tortured in different camps and prisons, he died in Zwickau Prison.
