Seeadler Harbor

The U.S. Army built a seaplane base in this bay. The bay was also used by war ships: Seeadler Harbor. Seeadler was an important staging base for the invasion of the Philippines. On 10 November 1944, the "USS Mount Hood AE-11" exploded, resulting in 45 dead, 327 missing and 371 wounded.

After the war, about ten LCVP Landing Crafts were dumped into the bay.
