Oosteind was liberated a few months when, on February 15th 1945 the farm of the Bogers family at the Leijsendwarsstraat (now Heikantsestraat) was hit by a German V1 flying bomb. The V1 was not intended for the farm but had as many flying bombs in late '44, early '45 crashed before it could reach its goal. This V1 was en route to Antwerp and crashed into Oosteind. 13 people lost their lives, a day the 14th victim died also in Turnhout due his injuries. Most victims were in the family Bogers but also the maid and two British soldiers have lost their lives.
The family Bogers is buried in the churchyard of Oosteind.
