Memorial Battle of the Bulge

This memorial commemorates the Battle of the Bulge. The text reads:
"Ardennes Offensive - Winter 1944-45. On December 19, 1945, the people in Näerden were evacuated. The militia of the organized resistance remained there and was the only armed post in the region according to the Kreuzerbuch, until the US Yankee Division arrived on December 21, 1944. With the 328th Regiment, the militiamen were then deployed in the Röiden Canton. General G.S. Patton congratulated them on Christmas Day for their endurance. May 7, 1995"
