Crash Location & Remains Consolidated B-24 Liberator

On 3 May 1943, the Consolidated B-24 Liberator 41-23728 "Hot Stuff" crashed here. Only one (tail gunner George Eisel) of the total 14 passengers survived. The victims:

Colonel Morrow Krum - Member of Gen. Andrews Staff
Colonel Frank M. Miller - U.S. Army, Chief of Chaplains
Lt. Colonel Fred L. Chapman - U.S. Army
Major Theodore C. Totman - U.S. Army
Captain Joseph T. Johnson - Gen. Andrews aide

The monument was dedicated on May 3, 2018 in Grindavik, Iceland.
