Memorial Executed Citizens Cemetery Brussels City

This memorial on Evere Cemetery, the "Monument aux fusillés", commemorates Belgian people who were executed by the Germans in the First World War.

Memorial wall for those executed during the war 14-18, designed by François Malfait and Pierre Theunis. Inaugurated in 1930.

The long wall is decorated in the center with a group of statues that seem to emerge from the stones. Pierre Theunis also made portraits based on the photo of the eighteen executed. These are arranged on either side of the sculpture group.
18 executives are buried under the wall.

The epitaphs of those executed from war 40-45 were placed in a curved line opposite the wall in 1951.
