War Memorial Warwick

This memorial commemorates the residents of Warwick who were killed or missing in the First World War and the Second World War and the wars in Korea and Vietnam.

In front of the memorial is a memorial gate, which commemorates the residents of Warwick who served their country in World War I.

This memorial also commemorates the residents of Warwick who served their country in the Second World War and in the wars in Korea, Borneo, Malaya and Vietnam.

Milne Force
The Milne Force was a garrison force formed in July 1942 during World War Two which controlled allied naval, land and air units in the region of Milne Bay, in Papua New Guinea. The force was responsible for constructing airstrips, roads, camps and defensive positions. Milne Force successfully withheld a Japanese invasion which landed on 25 August 1942 during the Battle of Milne Bay and forced the invasion force to retreat on 5 September.

National Service
This memorial commemorates the the Australians who served in the National Service, from 1951 to 1972. Many of them fought in the Vietnam War.
In total, 187 men were killed and 1479 wounded on active service during the National Service.
