This memorial hall (formally named Soldiers' Memorial Hall) commemorates the residents of Springston South who gave their lives in the Second World War.
It is a small local hall which is owned by the community of Springston South, in Canterbury, New Zealand. The building was opened in 1896 as the Springston South School which lcosed her doors in 1944. The years after that the Waikapa Post Office and several local associations used the building. As from 1922 the Springston South Soldier's Memorial Hall was opend in the building in which plaquettes comemmorate the fallen soldiers of the community during many conflicts of war. Nowaday's it still is a community hall which can be rented for several occaisions.
